The Central Coast Joint Data Committee Announces Its

 

THIRTEENTH ANNUAL MAP CONTEST

2013 CCJDC Calendar Map Submission Guidelines

Winner to be presented on our annual GIS Day

 

ELIGIBILTY:
Anyone may submit entries to be considered for the 2013 CCJDC calendar.

RULES FOR SUBMISSION:
NOTE: ALL map entries will be inspected for content of a sensitive nature prior to final acceptance.

I. 2013 CCJDC MAP SUBMISSIONS:

All GIS maps must be provided in the following manner:
A. Hard Copy
1) Submit a clearly legible 8.5 x 11 size plot. Landscape orientation is required and all major objects must be clearly legible and discernable at this size - (see CCJDC GIS Mapping Contest Map Design Prinicples).

B. Digital files on CD-ROM (you may supply a very specific ftp address from which files can be retreived).
1) Digital version of 8.5 x 11 size, landscape plot.

NOTE: All digital files submitted must meet the following criteria:
a) TIFF (preferred) or PDF format ONLY
b) Minimum of 600dpi (800-1000dpi preferred);
c) Minimum of 0.25 inch margins;
d) File size maximum of 75MB or less (50MB or less preferred).
e) In CMYK color (preferred)

C. General Map Requirements
1. Map must have contact information included directly on the map as part of the overall map layout (this should include full name, affiliation/school, address, email and/or phone, etc).

II. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

Please deliver all GIS Map Contest entries to:

MAP CATEGORIES:
The following categories have been suggested (these are for guidance only & not meant to contrain entries whatsoever):

-Natural Resources/Environmental - land
-Natural Resources/Environmental - coastal
-Demographics (business, redistricting, history/archaeology, public safety, etc.)
-Transportation/Circulation
-Marine/Oceanography/Atmospheric Science
-Land Use (existing, designated, appraised)
-Police/Fire/ES/Military Economics Fantasy
