As a part
of its endorsement of data sharing, the Association of Monterey
Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) spearheaded the effort to create
a regional roundtable of agencies and organizations working with
GIS and spatial data. That effort led to the creation of the Central
Coast Joint Data Committee consisting of agencies and organizations
at the local, state and federal level that agree to share GIS
data and to work cooperatively on GIS projects and special studies.
As part of this commitment, the CCJDC organizes and hosts educational
workshops, training and events to inform and encourage participation
of CCJDC signatories, as well as the interested general public.
